GOOD GRILL BUT... January 6, 2009 GOOD PRODUCT BUT THERE IS A STICKER ON IT THAT TAKES ALMOST 30 MIN TO TAKE OFF GOOD GRILL
Way To Go George! January 6, 2009 I just love my new George Foreman GRP106QPGR 360 Electric Nonstick Round-Shaped Grill with 5 Interchangeable Grill Plates, Black! I already had the George Foreman GRP90WGR Next Grilleration Removable-Plate Grill with 5 Plates, Red, and had purchased the additional omelet plates separately. My very first George was the small one I bought years ago and it still works like a champ.
My only problem was with the billing on it. When I ordered it the black one was $119.00 and the red one was $133.00. By the time it was shipped the price of the black one went up to $133.00 and the red was $134.00 and I was charged the higher price. Now the black one is $141.00 and I feel slighted by the overcharge, but thats on Amazon and not the product so I won't knock my rating down on the product itself.
As for the 'sticker issue' so many people seem to be complaining about, my sticker peeled up just fine because I pulled at it slowly and worked my way around the sticker, a few tiny bits remained which I blotted with a few drops of WD40 and wiped right up. Someone else recommended using a blow dryer which I am sure will work just as well.
Very versatile - easy to clean, but could be a bit bigger January 6, 2009 I am quite impressed with this product. I have only ever owned another George Foreman product, a griddle that was given to me as a gift, and have never owned one of his grills. After hearing many good things about the grills in general from multiple people, I decided to get this for my wife for a special occasion. We make it a point to eat healthy, normally baking or broiling meats, so this product fits our lifestyle.
The grill heats up quickly, usually within the specified 5 minutes. Steaks and chicken cook in as little as 7 to 10 minutes, so this is great for time-sensitive individuals and families. The cooking surface is large enough for my family, but only holds four burgers comfortably. The quesadilla cooking plates are just the right size for average size tortillas, and the baking pan is ideal for anything that you normally would place in the oven.
The selling point of this item, however, is the ease in which the cooking plates detach from the appliance -- it really can't be easier. I sometimes experience a little trouble replacing the top grilling surface, but it just requires a little more effort and doesn't seem to be defective. This feature, of course, makes clean-up a breeze. Clean-up after grilling is a breeze, and the surface wipes clean with nothing more than hot water, soap, and a generic sponge. I've owned other appliances with attached cooking surfaces, which made clean-up extremely difficult, so I'm quite impressed with this innovation.
This appliance will replace at least two other appliances I own (an older electric indoor grill and a separate quesadilla maker), and it will probably supplant the broiler in my oven for many items, as well. With it's ease of use and clean-up, I can't imagine using anything else.
My only wish is that it were bigger -- so I could cook larger or more items in it.
Large, versatile, and easy to clean up January 6, 2009 The Foreman 360 Grill is a very versatile indoor grill suitable for large families. I've already made several recipes including grilled sliced potatoes, numerous paninis, steak, pancakes, Italian sausage, hamburgers, grilled cheese, sausage and eggs, and pancakes. I also used the grill to reheat half of a leftover Domino's pizza. Everything came out excellent, and the cooking plates were easy to clean. Although they claim the cooking plates are dishwasher safe, I found it super easy to wash up in the sink.
The grill fit 5 quarter pound hamburgers, so it was far better than our smaller indoor grill which only held 2 burgers at a time. The cooking surface was exactly the same size as a medium Domino's pizza, so when we had half a pizza leftover I was surprised it fit so well. The pancakes also cooked faster than the stove top because I was able to close the grill and let them get heat from both plates.
I do have a few recommendations that could have improved my experience:
This doesn't have an on/off switch or a timer. My old indoor grill had a timer, and when the time was up it dinged and turned itself off. Once I forgot I was cooking up the rest of the pancake batter and came back a half hour later to a well-done pancake. With this grill, you have to use your stove timer and unplug the grill when you are finished.
Since the plates are non-stick I designated a few microfiber cloths to be stacked in between the plates when stored. It would have been nice if a soft cloth storage bag with dividers was included to keep the plates clean and protected from scratches.
The instruction book contained six recipes, but it would have been fantastic if at least a couple dozen recipes were included, including the recipes shown on the box.
Finally, not such a big deal for me since I have a kitchen island, but this grill will not work well in galley kitchens with cabinets overhead. The clearance needed with the grill completely open is 19.5" minimum.
Overall I'm very happy with the grill because it can cook so many different things. Also, I love the large size. It has cut my cooking time in half because now I don't have to just cook 2 steaks or burgers at a time, I can now cook for the entire family at once.
This grill is a must have for guys! January 4, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Before recently purchasing my Foreman 360, I decided to do as much research as humanly possible. The very place I started was here at amazon, in the comments section. First thing I'll say is that my grill came with the sticker on top that everyone has mentioned, and im not sure if they changed the material of the sticker, but it took me probably 60 seconds total to get the entire sticker removed, with no extra glue. Again, that may be due to a change in the material they used after receiving so many bad reviews due to the stickers very difficult nature.
As for the grill plates that come with this thing, they fall nothing short of AMAZING! I have no issues what so ever with my grill pans heating up, and so far i've cooked chicken breast, ground turkey, eggs, and bacon. I've done it all in a short period of time, with no heating issues what so ever. I cant wait to use the baking pan to bake some oatmeal cookies, or for a Pizza!
The only downside to this grill is the short cord that comes in the back of the device. I'd say its at most maybe half a foot long, and you literally have to have the grill right next to the outlet. Possibly they'll make the cord longer, or you could just use an extension cord for a little extra length. Aside from that, cleaning the grill pans is very easy (double non stick Teflon), and i'd suggest that whoever is thinking about buying this grill, be it as a gift for someone else, or just for yourself, GET IT!
